November 2020 Income Report – $2010 Total Income – Dividend Income 120% Increased from November 2019

We can’t believe that we are one month away from the end of the year.  We are excited to welcome December because Christmas is around a corner.  Also, December will be our best month for dividend income.

In November, we had the first snowfall,  Our city has been locked down because of the second wave for Covid-19. The malls were closed in our city on Black Friday therefore there was no shopping for us.  Here are a few photo shots we took in November..

We received total of $626.66, an 120% increased from November, 2019.   Out of $626.66 received, $313.95 is in CAD and $312.71 is in US dollar or 50 to 50 split.  For simplicity of this calculation, we are using 1:1 rate for the currency approach.  Year to Date, we have received total of $9691.14 in Dividend Income.  This is 103% more than the dividends we received for the year 2019.  Please check the Dividend Income 2020 for details.  Our goal for 2020 is $10,000 dividend income.  There are 1 months till the year end, We are confident that our goal will exceed our goal.

My top 3 dividends for October were RY, ABBV and BMO.  They were combined for total of $517.12 or 83% of the dividend income this month.  Ideally, we wanted the top 3 companies of our monthly dividend no greater than 50% of the monthly dividend income because we wanted to  minimize the risk of dividend cut.  Therefore, we will add more money to Realty Income (O) , Apple (AAPL) and Starbucks (SBUX) or other dividend stocks to diversity our income.

Selling covered calls  is perhaps the best options strategy for extra income while waiting for the stock to grow.  While selling put option is strategy for extra income designed to buy stocks at a lower cost.

For our growth stocks in my portfolio, we decided to enhance my passive income with selling covered call/put options.  The following transaction were made  in the month of October 2020:

  1. Hi, wonderful information. I am just starting out my dividend journey and wish to update something similar to this in my website as well. Will come back to check yours as well to learn new things. Also, in the ‘Dividend Increases’ table, both columns are titled ‘Original Dividend.’ I assume the second column should be either ‘increased dividend’ or ‘revised dividend’ or something. Just FYI. Thanks for sharing.
