Our goal for investing in Dividend Growth Stocks is once day the dividends can cover my expenses. The focus is only investing stocks that have a history of paying and increasing dividend regularly. Currently, we are holding our dividend growth stocks in 3 different accounts: RRSPs, TFSAs and Taxable Accounts.
Financial Sector is biggest in my portfolio, follow by IT and Energy.
My Holdings
Our biggest holding is Enbridge. It is more than 10% of my Dividend Growth Investment portfolio. We were not planning to have this energy stock as my biggest holding; but since the pandemic, we kept buying this stock because of the 30% discounted from the February, 2020.
Our second is Apple which is the biggest company in the world with so much cash. We are owing many Apple products at home and very impressed with the new M1 chip. Therefor by investing in this company make us feel like we are owning part of the biggest company in the world. Just like Warren Buffet, we like to invest in companies that we use daily or I understand them well. (i.e. Starbuck, McDonald, Telus, Enbridge, Microsoft, Apple…)
Our plan for the next few years is adding more shares of our favourite technology stocks: MSFT, AAPL, AVGO, V and SHOP. These stocks are expensive now, but by doing the dollar cost average method, we hope that we can accumulate more shares of these technology stocks. We want them to be on top holdings of our Dividend Growth Investing portfolio.
Currently, this portfolio generates an income of more than $2000 per month. Our goal is one day this Dividend Growth portfolio can generate enough passive income to cover our monthly expenses
Below is our Dividend Growth Portfolio:
Every month we will update my portfolio with buy/sell transactions. Also, You can view my latest monthly dividend income. Feel free to make comment or question.
Let the dividend snowball rolling!!!
